| Jim Teachey's passion for molding and sculpting metal began at an early age. At age 9 he was making toy soldiers with his own injection molding set, given to him as a Christmas present. At age 11 he learned to mold figures using molten lead. The adolescent years found him cutting up his mom's metal TV trays with oxyacetylene welding torch received for Christmas. Jim |

| took art classes throughout grade school working in various mediums, and was chosen to receive a Scholastic Art Gold Key in 1974.He majored in graphic arts in college and received a Bachelors degree in Graphic Arts Management in 1982 from Central Missouri State University, culminating with a position as Lead Computer Artist with a local packaging company. After a three month visit to Australia in 1989, he completed a course in oxyacetylene gas welding. In 1992 Jim and a close childhood friend constructed a small bronze foundry where they sand cast numerous decorative bronze pieces. In 2000, Jim graduated with a degree in Dental Laboratory Technology, mastering a variety of "lost-wax" modeling and casting techniques. He is currently studying under a master pewtersmith where he continues to develop and refine his art. |
